2-7 Single Draw is a lowball variant of Five-Card Draw in which the worst conventional combination takes the prize pool. This lowball game is sometimes called as Kansas City Lowball. Unlike hands in other low games, in 2-7 Single Draw straights and flushes count against you, and aces are used only as high cards. So the best hand in deuces to seven is 2-3-4-5-7 (with at least one card off-suit), that is why it is called 2-7 Lowball. Therefore, a wheel is simply ace-high no pair.
2-7 single draw is typically played at a table with 6 players. The action begins with 1st two gamblers to the left of the dealer position paying the blinds. When the blinds have been posted each player at the table receives 5 hidden cards and the first bettings begins.
The 1st person after the blinds may fold his hand, call the last bet, or raise the last bet. The right of checking isn’t allowed in the first round of betting. Action moves clockwise around the table until the round is over. This first betting round concludes once all players have either called or folded for the last bet on the table. The gamblers enter the draw.
At this point active gamblers have the option to change any cards from their combinations during the drawing round and replace those cards with new cards. Starting with the player nearest on the dealer's left, the player declares how many cards he wishes to discard from his hand and gets new ones in return. The objective in exchanging cards is to modify gambler hand, by saving cards that have the chance to accomplish the best hand, and discarding those that don’t.
Once the draw is complete, another series of betting takes place with the first active gambler to the dealer’s left, who may opt to bet, check (in the instance that no bets are placed) or fold. The series of betting proceeds until all players in the hand have either checked, folded, or called the current bet.
Once the last round of betting is concluded, all the active persons who have not folded enter to showdown. Starting with the first person to the left of the dealer position who is still end the game, players show their cards or muck and the person holding the lowest combination is awarded the pot. If two or more players have the same five-card poker combination, the money is split up into equal parts.
